The Ending

Well I would not say I gave up, It was more a matter of I did not want to trade that way.  I did not want to rely on  indicators that needed a programmer to  build and keep updated or fix.
While I found Roger to be quite charming, I found the room to be boring,  No one seemed to really be making money, unless they came learned and left.  I did not want to be in the room day after day watching someone else trade proving that (their) charts worked.  If one has not been trading long, I think this  may work for you. but trading is mostly mental, and while Roger is more than willing to help at any time, I doubt if one spends $7000. that the mental side will be conquered here.  There is something about the way the room is run that it feels uncomfortable to ask questions.  I  did learn that looking at more than one market is a good idea, and that ES is a slow mover.  But I realised within myself that I could not trade the other markets live till I am able to mentally trade the slow ES.
I am not saying that Rogers method doesn't work.  It does. I just don't see it for me.  I would spend more time worrying that I had spent a ton of money and (needed) to make it work rather than just focusing on learning the set ups, learning to wait for then, and learning to mentally trade them right.  The first learning the set ups takes about a day. the other two a life time, and I did not sense that the structure of the room was set up to help me over come those.
To be fair I think Roger has a nice chart software method, it does take alot of the noise out. and unless your color blind you can see more of the signals.
But for me what I need is to be able to trade the method I have, and mentally trade it well.  For it is not the method but the mind of the man.  And this man knows that he is mentally challenged when is comes to trading.

Mid way thru

I know. Its been awhile,  but I have trouble focusing on the Felton charts, not too mention its been really slow in the markets. Like watching grass grow.
Even Roger says its so slow and he is trading oil and gold.  My thoughts over the last week-
I see as a general rule that Roger makes 500-1000 a day.  One thing I will give him and his method credit for is that he waits for set ups with his rules.  He doesn't get bored and take trades that are guesses or not true set ups.  So why then don't I follow and get all excited about this method. Well two reasons seem to roll around in my mind.  Price of the indicators and teaching.  I have spent so much over the years on books and methods I have more fear of committing to buying another method than to just take my own trades. Plus I know that I can buy the best indicators and method and fail because of all the mental crap in my head.
The other reason,  I don't think I could actually trade CL of Gold with my fear of losing money. as when those move they move a lot.  Need bigger stops than I like.
The other thing about the trading room that seems to bother me is that most of the (students) are quiet other than a few jokes. I really don't see them making a lot of money other than some once in awhile trades. I am also not used to not really being able to talk to others in a private talk, to find out how they are really doing or thinking.
Roger seems to be able to (chat) easily. Some time I think too laid back as I tend to zone out.
Another thing that tends to bother me is that all those indicators have to be built by someone else other than me. A new ninja 8 is going to be interesting time.
Another thing I have noticed about my thought process and probably most traders is that we want to trade by outsmarting or predicting direction.  To have a method like Rogers that is so black and white takes the cockiness out of it all.  If you only take the trades with the colors and rules. you have to leave alone all the gut trades that we all tend to take. We all tend to have a  top and bottom picking mentality.
Ok I will admit it Rogers method works- it is also BORING.    then again what do pro traders say?
good trading is BORING !
I need to take advantage of this trial and focus. and start taking some trades. To be continued-

Day 5 What a Differance a Day Makes

First day of watching charts after Roger explained what to look for.  You need to realize that I have been trading price action only and my charts have NO indicators. to suddenly see Felton charts kind of makes ones eyes bug out.  The one thing Roger said in out talk while I heard it before was-  My turning point came hen I just traded the method and didn't worry if they are going to work and just trade them with discipline, in the end of the week you are ahead. It seemed to hit home for some reason this time.  Take the signals  Don't try to out guess them. just take them and see what happens.
Today I seem to have ended the day with $400.  just waiting for the set ups.  I said waiting, waiting and waiting.  not that I didn't see a lot of signals that I usually trade, but I waited for  the Felton colors to all line up. Maybe we tend to trade more  (signals than we should) instead of waiting for the best set ups.
For the record while Rogers has his charts set up one way.The software is designed so that everybody can pick and choose according to their trading style. Long term, swing, scalp we are all different in what makes us comfortable.  Rats I think I am learning to like indicators !

Day 4 Talked to Roger One On One

Regardless of what you think about his trading method Roger is one of the nicer guys on the planet.  I would have to admit after our talk I am less nerveous of  a vendor trying to just push his wares.  I think Roger loves trading so much that no matter how you trade or method you use he will just talk to you. though it still reminds me of my accountant that I usually have to pay out some $ to just be his friend and chat.  I think Roger would talk to you even if you are not a member.
What I did learn was how to understand his chart set ups and how to use the indicators to trade with.  Unless your color blind, if you follow the colors and trade in the direction when they all line up the signals are fairly easy to see.  But like all methods  we all have that mental crap that seems to take the nicest trading method and turn it into a train wreck. Is always boils down to discipline and not trying to make something out of nothing looking for trades. Still must admit the whole $7 grand price tag still is constant on my mind, I think it tends to mentally make me want to not like this trading method.  I will just try to see what I can do with the chart set ups now that I understand the indicators. Later then-

Day 3 - Monday-Way Better

Lets see, I watched Clint  Ciff, Clem,  shhhe  I dont remember his name trade  using his own set ups that he seems to prefer. Same set ups I think just different indicators and setting. But all with signal pro bars mainly. End of day results his -850   I made $450.  Not sure what to take away from that. we all have our days. I finally asked a question or two. managed to ask how to get my screen so I could actually see his charts without having to be a mad man with a scroll wheel.  Then Roger took over the second shift.  He explained some new indicators that are not in my (total) trial package which seems a little strange. Would have liked to copy his chart and trade it for a week. But I did learn some things and have a fairly good idea of what to look for. I doubt if I would use most of the indicators that package seems to have evolved into. Mr. Ronco said it best. Set it and forget it.
there are some things I find interesting or troubling.
The other (students) don't seem to talk much other than the occasional joke. they either know it all or are to afraid to ask or to annoyed with their purchases hoping to hear something that will make it all worth while. My gut is telling me the latter. No one seems to be able to talk to each other. Then again these are questions I will ask Roger tomorrow in my first one on one with him.  Funny how we tend to think the worst of things !
These are the questions I have.
Can students talk to each other outside of class without you hearing what we say? You always find out how            it really is this way.
Is there an actual course with books or is it just ask and I will answer kind of thing?
is the live trading/teaching  mostly teaching or just watching trading?
what happened to the shrink on the payroll?
How many students have done well moved on or still here?
Where the hell are those indicators you were so proud of yesterday ?
I am sure there are a lot more questions but I will have to spill the beans after my first talk another day.

Weekend Review

Spent a good deal of time Saturday watching some of Roger Felton you tube videos. Well maybe the two or three I could find. They were geared to show some of the features Of Signal Pro. the software he has created .  I found the videos more easier to understand than the one included with the trial software download. then again I am not sure it was a training video. The fact that I felt the need to search for you tube videos elsewhere is telling.   Roger sounds like a really nice guy without a care in the world. It would be nice to have a training video that came with the software download. But when asked about it, I was told it is better to just have Roger explain it.  I think this is mostly because they seem to have upgrades a lot so the videos probably would get old sooner more so than later.
The bottom line- The thought that is somewhat always on my mind is,  at least for me - Would I really fork out around $7000. for training and software to trade this way.  When you look at the cost of college for even just 1 year. And can make $1000. a day like Roger, it seems to be dirt cheap.  Or break the cost down for a year to ES points = $28 a day  for 50 weeks. Or 2.5 tics still seems like a fair trade off.  The question always lingers- But am I mentally able to trade the way I should using this method.  I have learned that a guy can give you the best trading method on the planet but most traders are mentally unable to trade it properly day in day out.  I may have to just forgot the money costs and just see what I can learn and what I can apply.
Its the weekend this blog should be short . So let it be.

Day 2 with Roger, well sort of.

Got an email that Friday was Basic Training day in the room. Logged in thinking I would learn about the basic chart setups and what I was to be looking for in all those indicators.  After a while of listening and watching I realized what I was listening to and seeing was two computer geeks giddy over a auto trade system that they have been working on and coding. So as while the rest of us watched they spent most of the time looking and tweaking out what signals worked  or not. It was like watching Steve Jobs talk about the inner workings of his laptop. To make matter worse In order to follow along I had to continually use my arrow keys to slide the view screen back and forth and up and down. Having watched ES for the last year slowly move around I am used to being patient and being bored. But that was one of the more boring moments in my trading. I would love to see how the other (students) thought. But as I remember from the trial before. most seem to remain silent. So while we are encouraged to ask questions I don't see the (teachers) being quiet enough to get a question in other wise. In all fairness I keep hearing that you have to be in the room awhile to really see what is happening. What I am thinking  is that I am in a room where a bunch of guys are bored, and find more of a charge at indicator/system design than actually making money.
My gut is telling me that Roger is a successful trader ( as I have watched him trade many times) and got bored ,hired some programmer's to create indicators that have created this huge package that he now has to sell for a chunk of change. I also feel that Roger tends to stick with more of the basic simpler stuff. But when he is bored he encourages his programmer posse to write code for some other way to interpret a price that can only go up or down. I am going to suggest that he have or start a beginner class were those who want to just learn a simple few chart set ups and trade the same way day after day. And let those who are holy grail seekers to have their own room. I can tell from just two days that I want no part of the auto indicator posse.I am not opposed to using a auto trading system. What I find annoying is being in a supposed BASIC trading room watching a couple guys tweak the system while paying students watch. So I admit it I am annoyed. my time is valuable.  I wanted to scream I was so bored.  Maybe day 3 will be better.
Emailed Beverly, asked her if she was as bored as me.  That lady must be a SAINT. She thinks a couple chats with Roger will help clear things better.  I need to decide if I am going to waste Rogers time or maybe mentally I just don't want to pitch out the $7000 it will cost me to learn in a room with indicator freaks.

DAY 1 -charts loaded and in room

This will be a 30 day review of my thoughts and observations of  my 30 day Paid Trial with Feltontrading.com,   Having done research on the net about him and his methods I really found not that much and what was, seemed  to be mostly of men in forums acting like scorned women who pick apart anything and everyone. So I am going to keep an open mind and spend this next 30 days getting my concerns and questions asked. This is not going to be a looking for the dirt, and a focus on picking apart Rogers methods, But rather lets see what this guy has to offer in the way of helping me to reach my goal of actually making money on a consist daily or weekly basis. I will be making an effort to not show any propitiatory stuff.
I will confess that this is my second trial. I tried a two week one some time back with less indicators and trading room time.
Who am I.  I go by the name Monsterslayer in my trading world. I have been around the block or two trying all sorts of methods and even my own thing. So far I have as yet been unable to trade like I need to or want too. I will not bore you with the details as they are mostly like alot of the things I read from other traders who are trying to trade well. or at least stop losing money.

Day 1  Got all of the things Beverly sent me downloaded and managed to install a bucket load of indicators that work in Ninja with the help from a install video. I sat in on my first Felton trading room. I find most rooms the same generally as do most traders. Watching Roger's charts and him taking trades. His goal -to make $1000.a day trading 2 contracts. So I will admit I don't understand what he is seeing on his charts as he uses a special Renko style bar. and alot of (other) indicators he seems to have come up with over the years.  But as a price action traders I can see the market behind it all. I made a chart to be a higher time frame that showed the bigger trend and then a smaller one for enteries. so I was able to follow the market to a point.
Thoughts for the day.
I seem to keep looking for a basic video or glossary that shows what certain abrev's in that huge package of things to download. At first glance it would seem that the knowledge and trading room has evolved into way more than any beginner could comprehend or even should have too.
